Soundgarden Lead Singer Chris Cornell Dies at 52

In a stunning overnight development, the lead singer of 90’s grunge rock band Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, has died. He was just 52.

News of his death broke early this morning and just hours after he tweeted about, and played a sold out show at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.

There has been no confirmation on how or why he died according to CNN.

Cornell was the front man for Soundgarden, as well as Audioslave, and even collaborated with stars from other formats, including most recently, with the Zac Brown Band on their album, Jekyll & Hide.

The song they recorded together was “Heavy Is The Head”.

Soundgarden emerged from the Seattle music scene in the early 90’s, along with the likes of Alice In Chains and Nirvana. Chris’ vocals were some of the best to come out of the rock scene in the last 2 decades.
