In an interview with Spanish-language magazine, Gente, Bublé’s sister-in-law Daniela Lopilato says it all started when her nephew had a fever.
When the fever rose, Bublé and his wife took their son to the doctor where he underwent several tests, including an ultrasound, which indicated a spot on his liver.
The family then flew to California, where testing continued and the diagnosis of liver cancer was confirmed.
Bublé took to Facebook to share this news with his fans. “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children,” the statement read. “Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”
Lopilato said that her nephew would undergo a four-month chemotherapy plan and possible surgery.
“Cancer is a horrible disease, but we have faith that Noah will succeed,” she told the magazine. “It is time to start a treatment that will be long and very hard, but it is necessary. They say that children are usually strong [enough] to withstand chemotherapy… and my nephew is a warrior.”
